Thursday, April 21, 2011 7:20 AMAn Automotive Mileposts customer recently found the NOS 1965 Ford Thunderbird Special Landau Nameplate they'd been searching 35 years for. Yes, those almost impossible parts, made of unobtainium, can still sometimes be found. Check our auction listing pages frequently to find the rare NOS parts you need for your classic car. Classic Car Parts Auctions Saturday, April 16, 2011 9:59 AMIn The Showroom: 1965 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop. Very original. Original owner. Dark Ivy Green metallic with Light Ivy Gold vinyl interior. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Friday, April 15, 2011 7:52 AMDon't forget to check our Facebook and Twitter pages, they are updated regularly. (See Twitter feed and Facebook status updates above.) We're working on the 1957 Thunderbird section now. Enjoy your Friday! Saturday, April 2, 2011 10:02 AMJust because we love Dusty Springfield so much, we thought we'd post this video to help you start off your weekend on the right foot. I Only Want to Be With You was her first hit single, released in November 1963, just before The Beatles started the British invasion. Springfield's song was a world-wide hit, and arguably could have truly been the first "British invasion" song as it hit the American shores first. With part of the proceeds from this first smash hit, Dusty bought herself a brand new 1964 Buick Riviera. Promotional photos of her sitting in the car appear on several of her recordings that have been released over the years. Can you imagine how many Rivieras Buick sold after someone saw Ms. Springfield driving one? During the sixties, Dusty Springfield was IT. Here's a link to the 1964 Buick Riviera section, and there's a link there to an external site with period black and white fan photos taken of Dusty in her Riviera. Hopefully the weather is warming up enough that you can start preparing your classic for the months ahead. Have a great Saturday, everyone! Friday, April 1, 2011 8:04 AM (Happy April Fools' Day!)NEW MODELS TO BE ADDED TO AUTOMOTIVE MILEPOSTS! AMC Gremlin We've heard a rumour that an AMC Gremlin will fit in the trunk of a 1974 Cadillac, but we've never tried it. But who knows, maybe we'll give it a whirl! We know our readers will be thrilled to learn all the details of these wonderful little cars, and we look forward to including them on the site soon. Edited to add (Friday, April 1, 2011 3:13 PM): OK, we didn't do too well with this one. But we did get five E-mails asking why we would include these cars on the site! Happy April Fools' Day, everyone. Next year, we'll do better... Friday, April 1, 2011 7:00 AMMARCH 2011: Another record goes down! Thank you from everyone at Automotive Mileposts! |
