VINYL ROOF

The vinyl roof was available in six colors on most 1970 Cadillac models as an optional item at extra cost. The Calais Coupe and Hardtop Sedan and the Fleetwood Sixty Special Sedan did not offer a vinyl roof, although there are confirmed reports that dealers installed vinyl roofs for their customers on these models. Again in 1970, the vinyl roof featured a "halo" design of fine chrome mouldings with a color-keyed border around the edge of the vinyl roof. These were painted to match the color of the vinyl material, and were set back from the edge of the roof rail to allow a color break of paint between the chrome roof rail and the vinyl roof moulding.

The vinyl roof was an additional $152.65 on DeVille models, and $758 on Fleetwood Seventy-Fives unless a Blind Quarter Roof was specified, at $2,026, or Blind Quarter Roof and Chrome Landau Bows, for which the cost was $2,131.
